How the tortas started
Mis Antojos started out as a dessert counter. In 2014 Francisco told the Napa Valley Register that adding tortas helped the business more than anything else, and the shop began opening earlier so people could come in for one at lunch.
Back then, Araceli Velazquez, who opened the shop with Francisco in 2011, made him a lunch from whatever she had on hand: chicken, ham and egg. A customer saw it, asked for the same, and it went on the menu. The shop’s aim, in its own words, is the best tortas in Napa Valley.
On Jefferson Street since October 2011
It opened in Pueblo Plaza as a small ice cream parlor, in the old Napa Valley Creamery space. Snacks from different regions of Mexico came next, then tortas. It reopened on April 11, 2026.
